MEDIA FAQs

Why did you write this book?
I sat down one day to organize my thoughts and notes around the end times topic. I have several books that contain facts and they're not in one place. I thought that if I was going to make this my own project, I might as well put Revelation into a format that removes much of the mysticism. When you know the historical facts that I do about it, it makes it easy to rewrite. The rewrite led to me having to dive into the book of Daniel and Matthew to help explain some prophetic topics centered around 'end times'. Before I knew it, all my gathering of facts looked like a book to me. It was logical, in order and eye opening. My goal for the book is to provide the facts to people that have been hidden from them so that they can make their own decisions. This is the best theory I know of about the 'end times' that most people have not heard of.

How does your theory differ from the majority view?
I'd say that the biggest difference in my theory and how end times is currently taught is that my view of our Christian timeline is not as linear as others. You've probably seen pastors draw a horizontal line where they put the beginning of time on the far left and end times on the far right and somewhere in between they write the 'Church age' and probably throw the 'Dispensation' word on there. That's a very linear and flat picture of time. The problem is that I don't think God is all that linear. In fact, I believe in circles and repetition. From our human cells, to the orbits of planets, to historical events, God's hand on us just seems circular and repeat through time. Historically we don't seem to learn from our mistakes as much as we should. So if we go back to my timeline example where 'end times' is on the far right, that implies the end of the world or end of humanity and I just don't read that in scripture. There are plenty of other explanations that compete with what we've been taught over the years and this book opens eyes to that end.

Do you not agree with the theory of the 'Church Age'?
I agree that there is a 'church age'. I just don't agree with what many pastors are using the phrase for. The church age began with the establishment of Christianity and it exists for both the Jew and Gentile for all time. Some pastors use this as a kind of "now it's our turn" special treatment but it's never stated that way. There's no special treatment for gentiles that isn't also extended to the Jews today. Also, I don't see that the Jews get special treatment anymore either. Certainly their religious system was not appealing to Jesus. If they get special protection from the most high, it is to preserve lineage or perhaps to preserve the land that God said was his. God will not dwell in any 3rd temple they create.

They also use 'church age' in conjunction with the 'times of the gentiles' statement as if they are the same thing. Revelation puts the 'times of the gentiles' and the destruction of the temple nearly in the same sentence. It was certainly the gentiles that destroyed the second temple long ago, so it was this allowance by God to allow his temple to be destroyed that is the meaning for 'times of the gentiles'.

How do you think the church body as a whole will receive this book?
Open minded people will deal with it like they would any other theory. They'll read it, research the facts and come to their own conclusions. There will be some though, that cannot and will not depart from their traditions. Some of them have their own theories and I suspect it will be next to impossible for them to walk away from them, especially if they've written books about them. Some will even go so far as to try and label me. The ones that value intellectual honesty over their pride will understand that this is just another theory that deserves close examination. We won't find out the full truth of the matter until we can ask Jesus ourselves.

Why self publish?
It's so easy with the internet and self publishing companies have taken a lot of work out of the process. I would have been open to pitching my book to major publishers, but they just don't seem eager for the opportunity from what I see online.

Do you have any future projects?
Possibly. There are topics that are briefly mentioned in the book that deserve more attention. Perhaps some day I'll address them, but for now there is nothing on the drawing board. My blog will discuss some of these topics over time. You can find that on my website.

How does someone order your book?
You can search for it at one of 39,000 online stores, including Amazon.com and BarnesandNoble.com or you can order it on my website at www.crowningaking.com

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NEW AUTHOR OFFERS A FRESH PERSPECTIVE ON THE BOOK OF REVELATION AND END TIMES

"Crowning A King - Revelation and The Story of Tribulation Past" is more than a rewrite of the book of Revelation into today's language, as it provides commentary designed to allow you to better experience the book as a whole by explaining the symbolism and pointing out overlooked historical facts.

Dallas, Texas - When end times theology departs from historical fact, fantasy ensues. When gaps of time are inserted unnecessarily into scripture, the real story can get lost. This problem has led Allen Harris to author his first book, which reveals new insights on end times theology within the book of Revelation. The book's main focus is devoted to forgotten historical facts that make scripture come alive, commentary that will help the reader better imagine the events in the text, and a better arrangement of chapter and verses.

"All in all, this is a brand new look at end times theology that most people have not heard before. When arranged more logically, the text tells a different story than we're accustomed to hearing. The current arrangement of chapter and verses implies false beginnings and endings. They were added to the text over 1,200 years afterwards and were never part of original scripture," says Allen Harris.

More than just a focus on Revelation, the book also offers explanations of prophetic verses from other parts of the Bible, written from a historical perspective that help tie the whole end times topic together. Based on historical facts, the book even proposes a new date for the birth of Jesus!

"In Genesis 1:14 we read that God made the stars for signs to mark sacred times. This got me thinking about Revelation 12, and as I began investigating it further, there it was, plain as day. An actual birth date possibility for Jesus. I can't think of a better use of the stars than for the marking of the savior of the world's birthday," says Allen Harris.

The book itself includes the King James Version text of Revelation and is laid out in parallel format so the reader can easily see the differences between the two. A downloadable sample and more enticing information about the book is located at crowningaking.com.

The book is sold on Amazon.com at http://www.amazon.com/Crowning-King-Allen-L-Harris/dp/1364837943/ref=asap_bc?ie=UTF8.
